Chelsea has had a pretty good first half of the season. With Frank Lampard at the helm, Chelsea has managed to reignite a spark that was lost nearly a decade ago. Lampard and his young team, in fact, youngest in the premier league, has not only impressed the fans but done the unthinkable. The team as of game 18 sits at the top four. Chelsea has posted a better performance than its rivals Arsenal, Man United, Tottenham, who currently have a more experienced team.
Although the performance has been good, a number of slip-ups; against Man U, Bournemouth, Everton, have exposed a few flaws in the team. It is lacking in world-class performance and experience. Many of Chelsea’s current players have not played in the top class and this is showing.
Lampard’s Two Signings That Will Lead The Chelsea To Trophies
The first signing has got to be Sancho. This England youngster has proven more than capable to be one of the best European players at Dortmund. He is poised to replace Willian who is set to leave Chelsea in the near future. Sancho would be a natural replacement and his interest to play in England makes it ideal for Chelsea to swoop in. Additionally, his addition to the front three- Pulisic, Abraham, and Mount would make Chelsea lethal.
The second signing is a no brainer. Werner. The German who plays for RB Leipzig would be a great addition in the midfield. This would give support to the already established Kovacic and Jorginho partnership. It would also bring depth to the team in especially when lacking natural ball holders like Loftus Cheek are injured. Werner also adds to the creativity going forward with his scoring abilities and dribbling past players.
