Chelsea; Never Beaten By A German Side At Home, Welcome Bayern: Tonight Expectations

In Chelsea’s history, no German side has beaten it at the Stamford Bridge. As Lampard’s Chelsea welcome in-form Bayern Munich, this thought will be weighing on their shoulders.

Chelsea’s young team, however, doesn’t seem at all bothered by the pressure laid upon them. After all, the team has made it this far surprising the most skeptic.

Against all, they sit ahead of the experienced Arsenal, Man U, and Spurs in the top four.

And what is their thought going into the game?

Mateo Kovacic who was speaking to the media in the pre-match conference noted that Chelsea is not the underdog. This has been most people’s thinking. This is because Bayern is in form and sitting on top of their league.

They have also been flying in the Champions League. Their last visit to London, they thrashed Tottenham 7-0.

Kovacic believes there is no reason why Chelsea can’t get one over Bayern. There are however questions over recent performances from Chelsea.

After a flying start to the season, the team seems to be lacking in creativity. Part of this has come from players like Pulisic lacking out due to injuries.

Luckily, Chelsea comes into this game off a win over Tottenham. And Kovacic that part of the morale to win this game from the fans who were more lively than ever.

He urges that the same energy is shown as the German side visits the Bridge.

Home Form An Issue For Lampard’s Chelsea

The game is a must-win for Chelsea as they have the home advantage. Away to Bayern will be much harder to win especially if they can take away something now. But one concern for Lampard this season is that he has taken more points away than home.

This game promises to be entertaining and filled with goals. The last time the two teams met is in the 2012 Champions League final. The game went to a penalty shootout which Chelsea won 4-3 to claim their first Champions League title.

Across the border, Italian team Napoli will be welcoming Spanish giants Barcelona where they will hope to hold down the soaring Lionel Messi.
